In a world where innovation and adaptability are paramount, our recent Artemisia training to the medical director of Namba Medical Centre and the team leader of Wi nyarago women community CBO in Migori, Kenya emerged as a beacon of inspiration and empowerment for our organization. As we reflect on the transformative journey embarked upon by our team in collaboration with MMH and The house of Artemisia, it becomes evident that Artemisia has not only equipped us with valuable skills but also ignited a collective passion for excellence and growth.

Dr. David Obuya

The Artemisia training to the medic ,done at our MMH Kibisi Gardens, shed light on new perspectives and insights about the famous plant which has a lot of medicinal benefits. part of the topics discussed were:

  • Nursery preparation
  • preparation and Propagation of Artemisia seeds and cuttings
  • Planting of Artemisia
  • Harvesting of Artemisia
  • Harvesting of seeds
  • Preservation of Artemisia
  • Uses of Artemisia

The training provided valuable information and practical tips; the trainee was involved in harvesting of seeds, propagation of artemisia, transplanting of seeds and preparation of Artemisia medicine.

The success of our Artemisia training program serves as a testament to the power of collaboration, demonstrating what can be achieved when organizations come together with a shared vision and purpose. We are deeply appreciative of ‘The House of Artemisia’ from France for their collaborative efforts and unwavering dedication to making the Artemisia training a reality by providing training materials and more trainings to our trainers paving the way for future collaboration and mutual success.

I have personal motivation to the Artemisia training having witnessed the suffering caused by malaria firsthand to people in Migori county. I embarked on this learning journey to gain deeper insights into Artemisia's potential as a remedy and especially its agronomic practices . My firsthand experiences with malaria patients underscored the urgency and importance of exploring alternative treatments and many of my patients responded faster to artemisia than other medicines. Artemisia can easily be made locally available, can prevent and cure and its cheaper, driving my desire to delve into the realm of Artemisia. It not only provided me with a personal reason to learn about this natural remedy but also ignited a passionate commitment to leveraging my newfound knowledge to help thousands of underserved community members who are vulnerable to this debilitating disease. My deepest gratitude to everyone at CHW for the incredible opportunity to participate in the training. It has been an enlightening and enriching experience that I and people of Migori will cherish for years to come.
